After a COVID-related pause, the Ripple of Kindness (ROK) Muskoka Chapter has started back up with a collective give of $4,200 to a local charity.
A vote that included several member-nominated local organizations, ROK members have begun collectively giving to support the vital services of Big Brothers Big Sisters Muskoka.
Executive Director Fallon Miller said their organization was honoured to receive such a kind donation and gives a big Thank-You to all ROK members.
“We are happy that our group is able to get back to giving, and helping our community.” said Co-Director Courtney Provan. “We look forward to meeting up in person at future socials, but now seemed like a great time to start back up.”
This is the second donation by the women’s group.
Currently at 21 members, the charity was selected by member vote to be the beneficiary of a minimum of $4200.
Previously the group made a collective donation to Muskoka Parry Sound Sexual Assault Services in February of 2020.
The COVID pandemic put a pause on activities as the group will normally meet up at “Socials” throughout the year, but has also highlighted the need for community support to organizations that were impacted by the pandemic.
This donation will grow with each new member, new members are always welcome.
