Some alleged porch pirates have been arrested in Collingwood.
The OPP was called on Tuesday afternoon about suspects stealing packages from the porches of homes in the town’s west end and when officers arrived in the area, they discovered a disturbance nearby home.
Police say the residents had arrived home and interrupted a break and enter in progress.
Two men, aged 22 and 34, are now facing a list of charges.
As a result of the investigation, Darren JACKSON, 34 years of age, of Collingwood, has been charged with:
· Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
· Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
· Break, Enter, dwelling house – Commit Indictable Offence
· Theft under $5,000 from Motor Vehicle
The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Cole STEWART, 22 years of age, of Innisfil, has been charged with:
· Theft under $5,000
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood, on November 30, 2021.
