Prime Minister Justin Trudeau unveiled his new cabinet this morning at a special ceremony held at Rideau Hall.
Chrystia Freeland remains Finance Minister and Deputy PM.
Other notable swearing-ins include Jonathon Wilkinson, who moves from the Environment portfolio to Natural Resources while Steven Guilbeault is the new Minister of the Environment.
Anita Anand becomes Minister of National Defence, taking over the role from Harjit Sajjan who becomes Minister of International Development and Minister responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency of Canada.
Carolyn Bennett becomes Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and Associate Minister of Health and Seamus O’Regan Jr. becomes Minister of Labour.
“With a refreshed and reinvigorated team around me, I’m really excited about what we’re going to be able to accomplish for Canadians and I know that this team is raring to go,” says Trudeau.
