A special weather statement is in effect for parts of southern Ontario today.
Environment Canada says periods of rain beginning early this morning may create hazardous driving conditions, since wet roads and reduced visibilities from rain may make travelling difficult.
It says total rainfall amounts of 25 to 40 mm are expected by tonight, with possible localized flooding in low lying areas.
The weather agency says this rainfall is due to a low pressure system that is forecast to track northeast across southern Ontario throughout the day.
Rainfall warnings are in effect for the Sarnia and Windsor areas.
