Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “,….. proudly sponsored by Pete’s Auto Body.

” You should write a book “……
That’s what Kaleb Dahlgren was told after making a presentation, or speech, a couple of years ago.
Dahlgren was a passenger in the horrific Saskatchewan crash in April of 2018 that killed many of his Humboldt Bronco teammates.
While Dahlgren did survive, there was significant damage on many levels, including a severe brain injury.
When presented initially with the thought of writing a book, Dahlgren wondered if anyone was actually listening to his talk when he related he’d suffered brain damage in the crash.
But with each passing presentation, like clockwork, somebody in the audience would approach and say, ‘ you should write a book ‘.
And that’s what Kaleb Dahlgren did, he wrote ” Crossroads “.
On Sunday, Dahlgren will be in Owen Sound at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre to deliver another presentation.
Speaking to him in advance, it’s notable the presentation isn’t solely about the Broncos tragedy but rather about surviving, about being resilient, about rising above obstacles, adversity, loss, injury and life in general.
Organized by the Optimist Club of Sydenham and District, and with the support of the Grey Bruce Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Kaleb Dahlgren will appear at the Bayshore at 10:30 am for what’s expected to be a half hour session.
Tickets are $15 and available through the Attack Box Office, online or in person and there will be a book signing afterwards because Kaleb Dahlgren did in fact write a book.
For Pete’s Auto Body, I’m Fred Wallace.
