It’s hockey night on a couple of fronts
In Windsor, the Owen Sound Attack launch the first of a 3 games in 3 nights stretch when they meet the Spitfires.
Tomorrow night, Owen Sound is at London, and then Saturday night the Attack will be at home to host the Spitfires.
This is the first of ( by my count ) 6 sequences in which Owen Sound plays 3 games in 3 nights or less.
I know, you’re all expecting me to go off on a rant about the schedule, but instead of articulating my displeasure, ( yet again ) let’s see how this stretch plays out, especially on Saturday night at home.
The Saturday game could be a test of stamina and that’s not a surprise at this time of the year.
I watched the Owen Sound U15 IceHawks run out of steam earlier this week and barely hang on for a 2-1 win over the Walkerton Lady Capitals.
In the Greater Metro Junior Hockey League last week, the Knights of Meaford built a comfortable 5-2 lead over South Muskoka by the midway mark and then gassed, giving up the game tying goal in the last minute losing 6-5 in a shootout.
We’ll see if the Knights have more endurance tonight in their 3rd straight home contest to open the year when they host the Bradford Rattlers
Game time tonight for the Knights & Rattlers is 7:30 pm at the Meaford & St Vincent Community Centre.
