The promises have begun ahead of next year’s provincial election.
The Ontario Liberals have vowed to explore a pilot project to analyze the potential for a four-day work-week, IF they are elected in June, 2022.
Leader Steven Del Duca announced the proposal during a keynote address at his party’s Annual General Meeting yesterday.
He said research on the 4-day work-week is already being done in other countries such as New Zealand, Japan and Spain.
A Toronto company said it recently implemented the practice after a testing period found it helped prevent burnout and had a minimal impact on productivity.
The Liberals are also promising to reinstate the basic income pilot project that was cancelled by PC Premier Doug Ford and say they are committed to delivering $10/day childcare.
