Provincial Police have hit a couple of people from outside the area with stunt driving charges.
Grey Bruce OPP say officers pulled a vehicle over on Bruce Road 10 in South Bruce Peninsula at about 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 6) after it was clocked travelling over 170 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
Police say the driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Grey Bruce OPP detachment where further tests were administered. The 57-year-old Kitchener man was charged with stunt driving and impaired driving.
Meanwhile, Grey Bruce OPP also ticketed another stunt driver in South Bruce Peninsula recently.
OPP say they conducted a traffic stop at about 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 3 on Highway 6 in South Bruce Peninsula.
According to police, the vehicle was found to be travelling at over 150 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
A 66-year-old woman from Guelph was charged with stunt driving, while have her vehicle towed and impounded for 14 days and driver’s licence suspended for 30 days.
Ontario implemented new, stricter stunt driving regulations earlier this year. Among the changes: roadside driver’s licence suspensions increased from seven to 30 days and vehicle impoundments to two weeks.
