The Elmvale Virtual Thanksgiving Celebration is taking place again this year!
The event replaces the Elmvale Fall Fair, which was cancelled for a second year in a row due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Elmvale Virtual Thanksgiving Celebration is a hybrid event that includes online and offline activities, as well as an online photo contest and prizes.
As one of the event organizers Matt Garwood explains, “Thanksgiving weekend is always a special time of the year in Elmvale. It is our homecoming; our opportunity to reconnect with friends and family and celebrate the local agriculture in our area. With the Elmvale Fall Fair being such a big part of our community, we are glad to continue the tradition in some way, while keeping everyone safe.”
The 2021 program will include the following activities and events:
Online Photo Contest: Submit a craft, enter a baked good, or show off your produce! There are a number of contest categories, through which you can submit photos for judging. Submissions are due on Monday, October 4 through springwater.ca/ElmvaleVirtualThanksgiving.All submissions will be featured on the Township’s website and social media beginning Friday, October 8.
Tractor Drive-by: Watch the Tractor Drive-by on Saturday, October 9 at 1:00 p.m. Those who wish to participate in the parade are asked to arrive with their tractor at Elmvale District High School no later than 12:30 p.m. Please note that only tractors are permitted in the Drive-By.
Fireworks Show: Sit back, relax, and enjoy a fireworks show in the heart of Elmvale from your own backyard! Look to the skies to see this display on Saturday, October 9 at 7:30 p.m.
Bingo in the Village: Tour the Village of Elmvale through this fun and safe activity for families. Further details will be posted to the Elmvale Fall Fair Facebook page.
Four Corner Displays in the Park: Take a moment on Thanksgiving weekend to see the amazing fall-themed displays at the corner of Highway 27 and Queen Street.
