There’s now a designated area at the Orillia OPP detachment parking lot for people to meet up and complete online transactions.
It’s part of Project Safe Trade, which aims to move online transactions away from secluded parking lots, personal residences or other areas and bring them to a public place.
The Orillia safe trade area is in the visitor parking lot of the Orillia detachment. It’s available at all times, with no appointment necessary.
However the OPP does not monitor its use, nor do officers mediate transactions.
