Ontario’s fourth wave of COVID-19 has leveled off, except for children under 11, according to new modelling from Ontario’s Science Advisory table.
The group says a variety of scenarios could unfold over the next month or so.
On one hand, we could see cases drop to about 200 per day if people limit their contacts, keep wearing masks, and unvaccinated individuals continue to show up to get their shots.
In the worst case scenario, we could see a spike to 5000 cases per day if there is a major increase in transmission.
The advisory panel reports that so far, Ontario’s extremely cautious approach to reopening has led to stable or improving public health indicators.
