The OPP has laid stunt driving charges against three people within a 48 hour period.
Police say an officer stopped a vehicle on Highway 26 in Springwater on Thursday night, after it was caught going 135km/hr in an 80 zone.
Then early Friday morning, a 34 year old Barrie man was arrested, after police say his vehicle was caught going 159 clicks in an 80 zone on Highway 26 at George Johnston Road.
The OPP says a 20 year old Barrie man was also charged on Friday night, when his vehicle was clocked at 96 km/hr in a 50 zone on Knox Road.
Police say all three drivers will appear before the Barrie Provincial Offences Court on December 7, 2021 for – Race a motor vehicle – Excessive Speed and Speeding and 50+ Km/h over posted limit contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
In addition, their vehicles were towed and impounded for 14 days along with receiving a 30 day drivers licence suspension on the spot as per the Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS) conditions which have been recently elevated by the Moving Ontarians More Safely (MOMS) Act.
