A Rainfall Warning remains in effect for most of southern Ontario for the first official day of fall.
The new season arrives at 3:21 this afternoon.
The autumnal (or fall) equinox happens when the sun appears directly over the Earth’s equator, resulting in about 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness, much like the spring equinox in March.
Environment Canada says showers and isolated thunderstorms are forecast to continue through at least tonight, with rainfall amounts of 50-60mm possible by tomorrow morning.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads, so if visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
