It’s Election Day in Canada!
The 36-day election campaign has ended and Canadians are heading to the polls today to elect the members of the 44th parliament.
Polling stations will open at 9:30 this morning and close at 9:30 tonight.
To vote, you must be a Canadian citizen, be at least 18 years old on election day, and prove your identity and address.
Vote at your assigned polling station on election day, which can be found on your voter information card.

Not registered? You can still register when you go to vote at your assigned polling station.
When you go to vote, remember to:
- Bring your voter information card with you, along with accepted ID, to make the voting process easier when you go to vote. Elections Canada will not ask for proof of vaccination.
- Wear a mask. Electors must wear a mask as required by the province, territory or region, or landlord leasing the polling place to Elections Canada. If you forget to bring your own mask, we will provide you with one.
- Bring your own pen or pencil to mark your ballot, though single-use pencils will also be available.
- If you can, avoid peak times, such as the opening of the polls in the morning and dinnertime in the evening.
