With Ontario’s Covid vaccine certificate system set to start in a couple of days, the Hanover P&H Centre is outlining its requirements for proof of vaccination to use its facilities.
A release notes, in following Ontario regulations, as of Sept. 22, residents will need to be fully vaccinated and provide proof to use any of the sport and recreational spaces at the centre.
This would include pools, sporting events and indoor areas at the facility where people can come and spectate.
According to the release, when anyone wishes to enter the centre, they will need to show proof of vaccination through proper identification to customer service staff, designated screening staff in the lobby, or the sport organization’s check-in location. Those who choose not to show proof, will not be allowed to join their program or enter the facility.
These rules apply to people 12-years-old and above joining in on any Town of Hanover programs and indoor recreation facilities, and participants of sport groups like hockey, skating, ringette, swimming, adult sport leagues, and special Olympics, as well as those renting any space or spectating.
Those exempt from the requirement include workers, contractors, repair workers, delivery workers, students, volunteers, inspectors or others who are entering the facility for work purposes. This also includes patrons who are entering an indoor area solely for the purpose of using a washroom, children under the age of 12, and anyone over the age of 18 entering indoors for the purpose of participating in an organized sport as a coach of official, unless it is required by the sport’s governing organization.
Those who show a written document, which has been completed and supplied by a licensed doctor or registered nurse identifying they are exempt for a medical reason for not being vaccinated and the effective time-period for the reason, are also exempt.
Residents are asked upon entering the P&H Centre, to conduct themselves in a courteous and appropriate manner when at the public facilities.
