For the first time in a month, a new death from COVID-19 has been reported in Simcoe-Muskoka.
The health unit says a Barrie man between 45 and 64 years old died on Tuesday after contracting the virus.
Itβs the first COVID-related death reported in the region since Aug. 15.
The health unit also reported another 30 new cases of COVID-19 in its report yesterday, which involves 20 unvaccinated or partially vaccinated individuals and 5 children.
An additional 12 local cases have screened positive as the Delta variant.
The new cases include:

2 Oro-Medonte
1 Essa
3 Innisfil
10 Bradford WG
4 New Tecumseth
