The Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) is reporting 30 new COVID-19 cases today and one new death.
It’s the first COVID-related death in the region in close to a month.
Five of today’s cases are people under the age of 17.
Today’s update also includes 1 new hospitalization and 42 newly resolved cases.
To date, 84 percent of the region’s over-12 population has received its first vaccine dose, while 77 percent has received their second.
