The actions of a Goderich man helped to save a young girl from drifting into the deep waters of Lake Huron.
Police say they received a call about a 7 year old girl being blown out from shore on a toy inflatable last Saturday, at Goderich’s Rotary Cove Beach.
According to reports, the child not wearing a life jacket, and was too far from shore to swim back herself, or for family to bring her back in.
A 20 year old man out for a walk was able to swim to the girl and tow her back into shore, OPP say.
OPP remind swimmers to be aware of currents and water temperature, and to always check weather conditions before venturing into the water.
