There is plenty of clean-up today, after a severe weather system hammered southern Ontario with heavy rain, thunder and wind, causing significant damage in some areas.
Numerous power outages and heavy downpours were also reported across Simcoe-Muskoka yesterday and at one point last night, Hydro One said it was working to restore power to 27-thousand customers due to the high winds and heavy rain.
The storm prompted tornado warnings in some areas and left damage in a number of regions due to the powerful winds that exceeded 100 km/h in many areas.
Powerful winds, torrential rainfall, and hail accompanied tornado warnings from Environment Canada as a cluster of storms tracked through the Huron-Perth and Grey-Bruce regions late Tuesday afternoon.
The Weather Network says dozens of downed trees have also been reported in areas such as Lucknow, Kingsbridge, Port Albert and Port Elgin.
The tornado warnings have since ended and there hasn’t been any confirmation of one occurring at this time.

A tornado was observed over Lake Huron earlier today (see https://t.co/mtAVs7c35W). It appears it came ashore causing damage to barns, trees, etc.
Two NTP teams will survey this and other damage tomorrow. Please send additional reports to @NTP_Reports or ntp@uwo.ca. #ONStorm
