In its latest update, Westario Power says As of 4:30 this afternoon, crews are continuing their effort to restore power to customers in Port Elgin and Southampton.
They say in Port Elgin, extensive work has been completed to restore power to about 34 hundred Westario Power customers since yesterday afternoon.
According to Westario, there are currently 820 customers without power. Estimated time of restoration 6:30 this evening.
About 200 Westario Power customers north of the Saugeen River in Southampton continue to experience a power outage caused by damage from high winds, lightning, and heavy rain/hail. The estimated time of restoration is 11:00p.m.
They add, 12 customers will remain without power into tomorrow.
Once power has been restored to the affected areas, crews patrol the area to monitor for further issues/outages. As power is safely restored to many customers, there may be isolated outages affecting a smaller number of customers in pockets of each community.
Power has been restored to all Westario power customers in the village of Lucknow.
