Orillia’s fire chief is moving to a new position in another municipality.
Brent Thomas has been hired as the joint chief of the fire and rescue services in Innisfil and Bradford-West Gwillimbury. Thomas has more than three decades of experience in emergency services.
He got his start in Stoney Creek and joined the Orillia Fire Department as assistant chief in 2014.
He was promoted to chief in 2019. He will begin his new role on Sept. 27
