Huron Perth Public Health says they support the province’s decision to introduce vaccine certificates for many non-essential businesses.
“I am pleased that steps are being taken to further protect the public from COVID-19 in indoor settings where there is a higher risk of virus transmission,” says Dr. Miriam Klassen, Medical Officer for Health for Huron Perth.
Starting September 22, Ontario residents will need proof of two COVID-19 vaccinations to visit a number of non-essential businesses.
Those include indoor dining, gyms, movie theatres, concerts, and sporting events.
The province says they are developing a smartphone app to make the process smoother, and that will be available in late-October.
Individuals can provide proof of immunization by downloading or printing their vaccine receipt from the provincial booking portal at https://covid19.ontariohealth.ca, or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900.
