The Collingwood Fire Department, partnered with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, and South Georgian Bay Community Health Centre has been getting mobile to ensure our residents have enhanced access to COVID-19 vaccines.
On August 31 the mobile pop-up clinic administered 48 vaccines, 27 of which were first doses.
As part of this initiative, Firefighters and health unit staff provide important information and key messages from the health unit. Firefighters also received specialized training from the health unit for after care once someone received the vaccine.
Pop-up clinics are no appointments and offer first or second doses for anyone born in 2009 or earlier. The next pop-up vaccine clinic in Collingwood will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14 at the Galaxy Cinemas party room from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Check out the SMDHU Website for all the pop up clinics nearest you.
