On a warm night in Allenford ball park, the Allenford Gators won over the Bad News Bears in a very tight game, 3-0.
Keri Emke pitched for the Gators with nine strikeouts. She also had a double in the sixth inning. Kristy Adams had a RBI to bring her in for the third run of the game.
Courtney Torrie and Kristen Jackqes combined to pitch for the Bears.
Desboro Royals 3 Meaford Leaky Canoe 3
Strong pitching performances by Meaford’s Cassie Snyder and Desboro’s Maddy Moore highlighted the game.
Kaitlyn Knox got The Royals on the scoreboard in the first inning with an RBI double up the middle, scoring Robyn Cottrell and Moore.
Meaford replied in the bottom of the third with 2 runs, and added one more in the fifth. Desboro tied the game in the top of the seventh, when Patti Scarrow doubled and Knox drove her in with a single. The Leaky Canoe’s offence was led by Snyder, with a double and single, and Lisa Garrett added a pair of singles.
