Maxime Bernier is in the region today.
The leader of the newly formed PPC party will make stops in Bradford, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Midland and Orillia.
The party policies include phasing out the supply management system for the country’s dairy farmers; reducing equalization payments to provinces; reducing government interventions in the free market; lowering the number of immigrants and refugees accepted to Canada, withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accord; restricting the definition of hate speech in the Criminal Code; and withdrawing from all United Nations commitments.
Bernier has said, “My first promise of the campaign: I promise not to make costly and unrealistic promises every day to buy your vote like the other leaders do!”
This will be an opportunity for local residents to meet the candidate and Mr. Bernier, ask questions, and learn more about the People’s Party.
