A police presence in Sauble Beach had some people asking what was going on there today.
Our newsroom received reports of the OPP responding to something with their boat in tow in the Sauble Beach area.
Another person reported seeing a plane circling over the water.
OPP say the situation is resolved now and that a male had tried to evade arrest by entering the water.
They say he was brought back to shore safely and is now in police custody.
Police did not give further details on what the arrest was related to.
Meanwhile, OPP say the Joint Rescue Command Centre out of Trenton had a plane in the area at the same time and the plane’s presence was unrelated to the arrest.
