Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were called to investigate a robbery in the early morning hours of June the 6th, 2021. Police responded to the area of Beach drive, Park Area 2.
At approximately 12:15 am, a group of friends were on the boardwalk west of Beach Drive in front of Park Area 2 when they were approached by the group of suspects. One male suspect (suspect #1) threatened the group, claiming to have a handgun. A 22 year old victim was then forced to leave with suspect #1 to withdraw money from a local ATM. A second 22 year old victim who remained with the group of suspects, was assaulted by another male suspect (suspect #2) as he attempted to call passerby’s for help.
The suspects are described as:
Suspect one – Male, black, 20’s, 6’3, skinny, long shoulder length dread locks, earring stud, black hat, dark clothing. Claims he just moved back to the Wasaga Beach area.
Suspect two – Male, black, 20’s, short black hair, white sleeveless top, fanny pack across chest, 5’10
The other 3 suspects are described as 2 males and 1 female black. Female wearing a green coloured short/dress combo. Males wearing balaclavas, one male with a distinctive pair of ski goggles with reflective lenses on his head.
