A little more lacrosse today
As we mentioned yesterday, the Major Series Lacrosse Classic is being conducted in Oakville.
Last night, Brooklin moved to 4 & 0 by defeating the Cobourg Kodiaks 13-11
The Kodiaks at 1 & 3 are right back in action tonight when they go against the Owen Sound Majors who are 1 & 2 in the tournament.
There’s a little bit of Owen Sound versus Owen Sound tonight as the Kodiaks lineup includes netminder Ethan Woods, an Owen Sound native who I’m sure the Majors will try and recruit or deal for in the days ahead.
Jake McNabb of the Majors was a guest with The Great Paul Hill earlier this week and he’s excited about what’s transpiring with the Owen Sound club.
He’s also excited about an upcoming lacrosse clinic that Northern Torch will be conducting August 28th & 29th.
McNabb and Alex Pace will supervise a day of box lacrosse at the Shallow Lake Community Centre, followed by a day of field lacrosse at Victoria Park.
Field Lacrosse is relatively new to the city, certainly compared to box lacrosse. However, there’s been a distinct surge in participation and opportunities abound for field players both in boys and girls play, thus instruction at the minor lacrosse levels could equate to terrific scholarship potential in the years ahead for players from our region.
