Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “,….. proudly sponsored by Pete’s Auto Body.

The weekend was terrific on a variety of levels.
Most significantly, Ontario advanced to Stage 3 in the re-opening plan and there were indications of heightened activity at almost every turn including in the world of local sports.
At Duncan McLellan Park in Owen Sound, the Under 23 Selects had a sequence of fastball games.
In Halton Hills the various age brackets for Lady NorthStars Field Lacrosse had multiple games.
On a beautiful Sunday morning in Port Elgin, Josh Cassidy won the Canadian Paralympic Qualifier in the wheelchair marathon.
Cassidy turned in a time of 1 hour 28 minutes & change and there was no doubt he was the clear cut winner. The doubt that lingers is whether his qualifying times will allow him to represent Canada at the Paralympic Games next month.
And finally, the first ever OLG Ontario Ladies Driving Championship was conducted over 2 days at Hanover Raceway and Dresden Raceway.
Natasha Day, a regular at Hanover Raceway, won 3 of the 10 races and accumulated 58 points to win the 2 day affair by 5 points.
Great weekend, great weather and great events, hopefully a sign of many more things ahead.
For Pete’s Auto Body, I’m Fred Wallace.
