Production will ramp up this year on a Goderich cannabis operation that separates medicinal CBD oil from hemp strains.
CEO of Hempsana, Randy Ko, says production efforts for his company’s Goderich location slowed when the pandemic struck, but operations have been moving quickly since December 2020.
Ko tells Country 104.9 News production is expected to ramp up through the remainder of 2021, as the company looks for approval from Health Canada to put their CBD isolates and distillates into the hands of consumers.
“When we do get our approval from Health Canada to sell those products, we will be going out to the Canadian marketplace to see the interest levels,” says Ko.
“The OCS [Ontario Cannabis Store] is definitely a target. The biggest online store.”
As production ramps up at the Goderich facility on Parsons Court, Ko expects the need for jobs will rise.
“We’re going to start going into longer shifts, possibly into 24-7 shifts. We are looking to bump up our labour team over the next couple of months.”
Ko says positions will be listed on Indeed, when they are open.
