A break and enter investigation in Penetanguishene has resulted in the arrests of two people.
Police say a concerned citizen called on Sunday morning to report two suspicious people at a Sheridan Street home, which had been burglarized the day before.
Officers arrived and took two people into custody.
Charged in relation to this investigation is Kayla LeCamp 33 years of Cedar Point, who is charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada:
– Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence and further with Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a future date.
Also charged in connection with this investigation is Jonathan Michael Sylvester 32 years of Christian Island, who is charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada:
– Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence, Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada, Fail to Comply with Probation Order (two counts), Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court (two counts).
The accused is further charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada in relation to a shoplifting investigation at an electronics retail outlet on Simcoe County Road 93, Midland on July 9, 2021 – Theft Under $5000- SHOPLIFTING, Mischief – renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective, Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 in Canada.
The accused remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a future date.
