The Southern Georgian Bay OPP Marine Unit had a busy weekend.
It says eight persons were charged for liquor violations while boating on area waterways between Friday-Sunday.
The OPP says one operator who had been consuming alcoholic beverages registered a “warn range” on a breathalyzer, which resulted in a three day license suspension, while six operators were cited for various equipment and speed violations, along with two others for failing to have sufficient lifejackets aboard.
Officers educated 27 operators on various minor violations of the Canada Shipping Act in an effort to further increase mariners knowledge of the safety equipment required to be onboard while enjoying their recreation time boating here in the Heart of Georgian Bay!
