Owen Sound Police say they’re investigating after responding to a couple of assaults reported Sunday evening.
City Police say they received a call around 8:30 p.m. to attend the hospital after a female patient was transported there by emergency services with serious injuries deemed non-life threatening.
Police say the female told hospital staff she was assaulted while walking along the east harbour wall. Police say the accused and the victim are casual acquaintances.
Owen Sound Police say they spoke with the victim and obtained information that led to the arrest of a 44-year-old male of no fixed address.
The man was charged with numerous offences, including aggravated assault.
Meantime, shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday evening, Owen Sound Police say they responded to a report of a disturbance at an undisclosed east side residence.
Police say initial information was that several males were involved in a physical altercation in a laneway of the residence.
City Police say more information was received shortly after that three of the males were brandishing knives.
No injuries were reported in relation to this incident.
Police officers attended the area, but the suspects involved in the incident had already fled.
Owen Sound Police say they spoke with witnesses and were able to identify two of the three males involved. One of them, a 28-year-old of no fixed address, was located and placed under arrest. He faces a charge of possession of weapons dangerous.
City Police say the other two males involved have yet to be located.
