Millions in federal green infrastructure funding is coming to two Huron County municipalities.
Minister of Infrastructure and Communities Catherine McKenna announced nineteen green infrastructure projects across Ontario.
$2.8 million in federal, provincial, and municipal funding will benefit North Huron’s Wingham Standpipe Replacement.
The money will fund the replacement of the Wingham Standpipe, which will increase water pressure in low pressure areas within the distribution system.
More than $1.1 million in government funding has been designated for the Dungannon Drinking Water System Arsenic Treatment, Reservoir and Pump Station.
The funding is meant to reduce arsenic concentrations in the region’s septic system, and add storage to the system.
