The Grey Bruce Health Unit reported 28 new Covid cases and nine resolved ones on Thursday.
According to Public Health, eight people from Owen Sound, four from Meaford, three folks from Grey Highlands, two people from each of Huron-Kinloss, Saugeen Shores, South Bruce Peninsula, and Southgate, as well as residents of Saugeen First Nation, Chatsworth and Kincardine tested positive.
The region’s active known case load increased to 204. Nine Grey Bruce residents are hospitalized locally and five others are receiving care outside the area.
More than 181,000 Covid vaccine doses have been administered in the region to date.
Ten Grey Bruce residents have died from the virus over the course of the pandemic.
The testing and case counts data released by the health unit on Thursday is reflective of a 24-hour period prior to 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.
