The Collingwood and Blue Mountains Detachment of the OPP will soon have a new interim Detachment Commander.
Effective July 19, 2021, Inspector Loris Licharson will be taking on the role.
He was previously a platoon sergeant and operations manager with the Huronia West OPP prior to his promotion to Inspector with the Provincial Operations Centre and then with the Indigenous Policing Bureau as both an Inspector and Acting Superintendent.
The current Detachment Commander, Inspector Mary Shannon, is taking on a new role as the Bureau Commander of Community Safety Services at OPP General Headquarters in Orillia.
