The Montreal Canadiens avoided elimination and a 4 game sweep in the Stanley Cup Final on Monday night when they scored a 3-2 overtime victory over Tampa Bay at the Bell Centre.
In spite of the loss, the Lightning still hold a commanding lead in the series, up 3 games to 1 going to Game 5 tonight in Tampa Bay.
And as history tells us, only a franchise as great as the Toronto Maple Leafs is capable of erasing a 3 game deficit in the Cup Final and even that was an awful long time ago.
But the Canadiens have defied the odds, defied the expectations and expert predictions to get to this point, so who’s to say they won’t run the table.
If Montreal does shock the hockey world and win the Stanley Cup, who would get the Conn Smythe Trophy as Playoff MVP ?

They’d all be good choices, but if the Canadiens do rally to win their first Cup since 1993, my vote for the Conn Smythe would be cast for Jane Castor, the Mayor of Tampa Bay
