Active Day For Attack
Reports indicate the Owen Sound Attack have hired a new Head Coach to replace Al Letang who stepped down from the position in mid-June and was subsequently hired to coach the Sarnia Sting.
Sources close to the Attack relate the Owen Sound club could make a formal announcement mid-afternoon following the CHL Import Draft.
As of last weekend, it appeared there were 3 coaches on the Attack shortlist; Greg Walters, Eric Wellwood and a 3rd, unnamed candidate.
CHL Import
The Canadian Hockey League Import Draft will be held today at 11 a.m.
The Baie-Comeau Drakkar of the Quebec League will have the first choice overall
The Owen Sound Attack are slotted to pick 39th in the opening round.
The Attack have a second pick at # 84 but aren’t expected to use it with Stepan Machacek scheduled to return to the team

NHL Awards
Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid won his second Hart Memorial Trophy as the NHL’s Most Valuable Player.
McDavid & Wayne Gretzky (1981-82) are the only players in league history to win the Hart Trophy via unanimous vote
McDavid also secured the Art Ross Trophy as the league leader in points (33 goals, 105 points )
McDavid also won the Ted Lindsey Award for the NHL’s most outstanding player as voted on by the NHL Players’ Association
Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury won the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s best goalie.
Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov won Calder Memorial Trophy, given to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition in the NHL.
New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox won the James Norris Trophy which is given annually to the top defenceman.
