COVID-19 vaccine eligibility has expanded in Huron and Perth counties, due to an increased supply of vaccine doses.
Huron Perth Public Health says anyone 18 and older who received their first dose of an mRNA vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) can book a second dose appointment for a future HPPH clinic at a shortened interval.
An appointment for a second dose must be at least 28 days after a first dose of Moderna or Pfizer, or 8 weeks after a first dose of AstraZeneca.
Pfizer and Moderna are interchangeable mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, as endorsed by the Public Health Agency of Canada, the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI), and the Ontario Ministry of Health.
