Two alleged drunk drivers have been arrested by Orillia OPP within two days.
Shortly after 3 a.m. on Sunday, officers received information that an intoxicated female was driving a vehicle near downtown Orillia.
Officers patrolled the area extensively and were able to locate the vehicle about an hour later at a property in Ramara Township. Following an impaired driving investigation, the driver was arrested and transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.
As a result, Sheila Bickell, age 48, of Orillia, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released on a Form 9 Appearance Notice and is set to appear on July 06, 2021, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
Then shortly after 1 a.m. Monday, officers were conducting R.I.D.E. on Atherley Road, Orillia, when they observed a vehicle turn into a parking lot and proceed over an embankment.
The officers approached and were given cause to enter into an impaired driving investigation. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the OPP detachment for further investigation.
As a result, Lesli McNabb, age 45, of Apsley, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
The accused was released on a Form 9 Appearance Notice and is set to appear on July 06, 2021, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
