Customers around Grand Bend are without water, following an issue at the area’s water treatment plant.
An official with the Municipality of South Huron confirmed Wednesday a pressure-reducing valve failed with the South Huron water distribution system through the night.
The failure prompted a spike in water pressure, and caused multiple water main breaks.
Reports say some cottages and businesses have had water tanks which over-pressurized, as well as water leaks in plumbing.
Anyone experiencing issues with water are advised to contact a plumber.
Country 104.9 News is told all staff and crews are working to resolve the issue, but low water pressure for nearby residents and businesses could persist throughout the day.
Customers in South Huron and Bluewater have been affected, but officials say they have yet to speak with Lambton Shores about customers experiencing low or no water pressure.
A municipal official with South Huron confirms the water from the facility continues to be safe for consumption.
