A recipient of the Order Of Orillia has died, after being pulled from Lake Couchiching without vital signs.
Police say the 42-year-old Christopher Bellchambers was pulled from the water by bystanders off the government dock at Couchiching Beach Park on Saturday night.
Bellchambers was given CPR and taken to hospital, where he passed away.
He was a well known volunteer in the community, appearing at a number of events and festivals in the city.
Chris was also a Special Olympian who had earned the Order of Orillia in 2013 and a candlelight vigil was held near the town dock following his death.
A GoFundMe campaign has begun to help pay for funeral costs.
