There has been a drowning in Wasaga Beach.
Police say a 22 year old Brampton man was on a floatation device off Beach Area 2 on Saturday afternoon, when he disappeared.
His friends called 9-1-1 and after a 2 hour search, police say the man’s body was found under the surface of the water, just a few hundred metres from shore.
The victim was pronounced dead in hospital, but his name is being withheld until next of kin notifications have been made.
The investigation is on-going, but information suggests the deceased was a very weak swimmer and not wearing a personal flotation device.
