The Bluewater District School Board has received approval from the Ontario government to tender a child care centre addition to Egremont Community School.
According to a release from Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker, $2.9-million is being invested for the addition. It will create two new child care rooms, two new EarlyON Child and Family Centre rooms and 39 new licenced childcare spaces.
Walker says the funding for this childcare addition to Egremont Community School is part of the province’s capital investment program to build more licenced spaces for Ontario families.
“This investment will provide choice and flexibility for families and new opportunities for the children of Holstein and surrounding area,” Walker says in a statement.
Bluewater District School Board Chair Jane Thomson says in a release the new childcare addition will allow the board to move forward in expanding the existing Holstein Kids & Us program by increasing capacity and improving learning spaces.
We are excited to work in tandem with our childcare partners to bring this project to fruition to meet the needs of our local families,” Thomson says.
