I got some mail this week from Tim Keeling of Bognor………..
Dear Fred,
It is true that Montreal has not won the Stanley Cup since 1993, but one must remember that Toronto has not won ” Lord Stanley’s Mug ” since 1967- only 54 YEARS !!
When they did win, a team only had to win 8 games, NOT 16 like now.
When Montreal won in 1993, they won 10 games in O.T.
This is quite a feat for any team regardless of the uniform they wear.
Perhaps Toronto fans should stop saying how good their team is and allow them to prove it on the ice where it really matters !
I personally think a lot of Montreal fans are quietly confident and prefer to be respectful of their opponents.
In conclusion another 46 years of not winning the Stanley Cup would make a perfect record of 10 decades for the ” Blue & White ” machine
