Firefighters from Muskoka Lakes, Georgian Bay Township and the province spent several hours Wednesday afternoon battling a wildfire along the CN railway tracks near the Oviinbyrd golf course.
The area is accessible only by boat and railway vehicles. The fire was out after about three hours.
Yesterday at 4:30 pm wildland firefighters from Foots Bay, Bala and Mac Tier responded to a fire adjacent to the CN rail accessible only by boat and high rail. Crews were able to fully suppress the fire in 3 hours with the aid of GB Fire, Oviinbyrd, and MNR air support. pic.twitter.com/4ldNdJ8VPC
