The Town of Bracebridge is celebrating Pride Month, honouring those in the community who’ve fought to achieve equality and acceptance and those who continue that effort today.
A release from the Town reminds that Bracebridge is home to a vibrant and proud LGBTQ2 community whose countless contributions are building a more inclusive community for all.
“This Pride Month we honour the pioneers, trailblazers and all Canadians who work tirelessly to raise awareness about the rich culture and history of LGBTQ2 rights,” says Mayor Graydon Smith. “On behalf of Council, Staff, and our residents, we thank you for helping to build a strong, caring, safe community where each and every one of us is free to celebrate our own identity.”
Locally Muskoka Pride Week is set to take place July 17-25.
Over the course of that week, the Rainbow Flag with be flown at the Town of Bracebridge Municipal Office.
