A popular amusement park near Owen Sound that had its 2020 season wiped out by the pandemic will open this summer.
Management for Story Book Park confirms in a social media post they are planning to open when provincial regulation allows with reduced capacity, as well as advanced cleaning and safety protocols to provide a safe environment for staff and guests.
The Ontario government’s three-step re-opening plan identifies outdoor amusement parks under Step 2, which would allow Story Book Park to open no earlier than the week of July 5 — barring any changes in policy direction by the province.
“We are currently unable to confirm the exact date at this time. This will be determined as the province moves into each opening phase,” the update from Story Book Park management explains.
The Park will not be accepting bookings or selling any season or day passes until an opening date is confirmed.
Story Book Park is honouring 2020 season passes this summer, because of last year’s closure.
Founded in 1975, Story Book Park features many family-friendly entertainment amenities including a midway, rides and a waterpark.
