South Bruce OPP say they laid 180 Highway Traffic Act charges last week.
May 18th to the 24th was ‘Canada Road Safety Week.’
Police were looking for what they call ‘The Big Four’ causes of serious collisions: impaired driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving and failing to wear a seatbelt.
Of the 180 charges, 155 were for speeding, three were for stunt driving, one was for careless driving and seven drivers were ticketed for not wearing a seatbelt.
On top of that, OPP say one person was charged with impaired driving and two more drivers were issued three-day license suspensions for a warn range result of a roadside breath test.
South Bruce OPP say they also investigated eight collisions, with non-life threatening injuries reported at four of the scenes.
