It’s an opportunity to care for Muskoka’s most vulnerable.
Area care providers are hosting the Muskoka Care Career Expo online this Thursday between 1 and 4 pm which will connect job seekers with care career employers in the District.
Jennifer Ridgely, Administrator at the Pines LTC Home in Bracebridge says the District has joined together with other LTC providers in the area to host the expo. They include Muskoka Shores, Fairvern, and Muskoka Landing.
She says it’s an effort to bring together job seekers with care employers in Muskoka.
“So we’re organized to be able to help show the community more of what a career in care looks like,” she says. “And we have vacancies and jobs available right now that need to be filled. So this is a great way to find out a bit about a care career and whether it’s a right fit for someone or not.”
You’ll be able to meet and ask questions of people who already work in the field like Pines Personal Support Worker (PSW) Geoff Cairns.
“If you like people and think you can interact well with people or residents I think care would be the right fit for anyone that meets those criteria,” he says.
